Our team acquires new licenses with fragrance and lifestyle brands and manages those partnerships in an effort to expand our marketplace. We are looking for a License Acquisition Specialist to join the team and create best-in-class experience for our new partners as well as internal stakeholders and departments involved in vetting and onboarding new partner licenses.
As a Licensing Acquisition Specialist, you refine and optimize the acquisition process for our new partners, internal Partner Approval Committee and internal stakeholders. You will be responsible for establishing strategic partnerships by acquiring new licenses for Pura’s marketplace and retail channels. You will identify new partnership licensing opportunities, evaluate their potential value, and manage the deal flow of these partnership opportunities from A-Z. Your expertise in market analysis, partner value creation / articulation, negotiation, and relationship management will be essential in driving Pura’s marketplace logo and revenue growth.
What you’ll own:
In this high-impact role, you will:
- Identify Potential Partnership Opportunities:
- Conduct market research to identify, contact and engage potential partners and licensing opportunities aligned with Pura's goals.
- Perform due diligence on potential partners, assessing their reputation, financial stability, and track record.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with partnerships, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory and Pura Brand requirements.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging brands, and market dynamics to assess partnership potential.
- Evaluate Partnership Opportunity:
- Create, evaluate and present partnership go-to-market strategies, considering existing market fit and new market opportunities, market value, and potential impact.
- Analyze financial projections, growth opportunities, and partnership terms to assess feasibility.
- Negotiate Partnership Agreements:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to negotiate partnership term sheets and license agreements that align with Pura's objectives.
- Ensure that partnership terms, including royalty rates, exclusivity, guaranteed minimum royalties and marketing obligations, are clearly defined and mutually beneficial.
- Cultivate Strong Partner Relationships:
- Build and maintain relationships with partners, acting as the initial point of contact and fostering open communication channels.
- Work collaboratively with partners and internal stakeholders including Partner Success, Fragrance, Marketing and Creative to develop joint marketing strategies, co-branded initiatives, and mutually beneficial activities.
- Support Partnership Strategy:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams like Marketing and Retail to develop and execute partnership strategies that drive revenue growth and market expansion.
- Provide insights and recommendations on industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape to inform partnership decisions.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 3+ years of partnership experience (licensing experience preferred)
- Strong understanding of e-Commerce and Retail distribution strategies
- Self-starter, driven, organized and detail oriented
- Strong negotiator
- Proficient in creating and assessing high level go-to-market strategies to determine business impact
- Strong presenter & communicator both written and oral
